If you haven't had a Coquito then you are missing out. It's basically the Puerto Rican version of Eggnog. The winter spices combined with the tropical flavor of the rum make for the perfect variation to this traditional winter drink. I decided to add in Cream Tequila because we just got back from Mexico with a bottle and why not?! Happy holidays!

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can coconut milk (full fat)
  • 1/2 cup coconut rum
  • 1/2 cup Crema de Cafe de Tequila
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  1. Place evaporated milk in a small pot and bring the milk to a simmer. Remove the milk from the heat & prepare to whisk
  2. Whisk eggs into the milk mixture 1/3 batch at a time
  3. Continue to whisk eggs until the mixture can coat the back of a wooden spoon
  4. Pour milk & egg mixture into a blender with the remaining ingredients and blend
  5. Store in the refrigerator overnight (for best flavor) or until chilled
