Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Add them to a large bowl.
Add the dry rub and oil. Toss until the drumsticks are evenly coated on all sides.
Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between the pieces.
Air fry at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until the outside is browned and the thickest part of the chicken reaches at least 165°F.
Notes
Use about 2 tablespoons of dry rub per pound of chicken.
Drumstick sizes vary, so larger pieces may need a few extra minutes.
For the best browning, pat the chicken dry and avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
You can season the drumsticks up to 1 day ahead and refrigerate until ready to cook.
