BBQ Oven Baked Chicken Drumsticks
Sticky BBQ oven baked chicken drumsticks made with BBQ seasoning, sauce, and a simple oven method. No grill or marinade needed.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with foil. For easier cleanup, you can lightly grease the foil or use nonstick foil.
Add the chicken drumsticks to a large bowl. Drizzle with the oil, then sprinkle with the BBQ seasoning. Toss until the drumsticks are evenly coated.
Arrange the seasoned drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the pan from the oven and brush the drumsticks with the BBQ sauce.
Return the chicken to the oven and bake for 10 more minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is set.
Optional:
Broil at 450°F for 3 to 5 minutes at the end for more browning, watching closely so the BBQ sauce does not burn.
Notes
Use similar-sized drumsticks:
This helps the chicken cook evenly and finish around the same time.
Line the pan with foil:
Foil makes cleanup easier and is the best option if you plan to broil at the end.
Add sauce near the end:
Brush on the BBQ sauce during the last part of baking so it gets sticky without burning.
Check for doneness:
Chicken is safe at 165°F, but drumsticks are often juicier and more tender around 175°F to 185°F.
Broil carefully:
If broiling for more browning, watch closely because BBQ sauce can darken quickly.
Rest before serving:
Let the drumsticks sit for a few minutes so the juices settle.
