use regular or a powdered sugar substitute for sugar free

Instructions
Add the cold heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl.
Beat with a stand mixer or hand mixer on medium-high speed until the cream thickens and medium-to-stiff peaks form, about 2–4 minutes.
Stop mixing once the whipped cream holds its shape. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes
Sugar-free option:
Use a powdered sugar substitute in place of powdered sugar.
Keep it cold:
Cold heavy whipping cream whips more easily and holds its shape better.
Choose your texture:
Stop at soft peaks for a looser topping or continue to medium-to-stiff peaks for pies and piping.
Avoid overwhipping:
Once the cream holds its shape, stop mixing. Overwhipped cream can become grainy and eventually separate.
Fix slightly overwhipped cream:
Add a small splash of cold heavy cream and gently whisk until smooth again.
Adjust sweetness:
Use less powdered sugar for lightly sweetened whipped cream.
