Instructions
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
Season the chicken: In a bowl toss the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
Arrange chicken thighs in a single layer in the basket.
Air fry 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through
While the chicken cooks
, make the lemon garlic butter: melt butter in a small pan over medium heat (1 minute).
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest (30 seconds).
Spoon the lemon garlic butter over the cooked chicken and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Pat the chicken dry:
This helps the seasoning stick better and helps the chicken brown more evenly.
Cook in a single layer:
Leave a little space between the chicken thighs so the hot air can move around them.
Make the sauce at the end:
This keeps the garlic from overcooking and keeps the lemon tasting fresh.
Add the sauce after cooking:
The chicken keeps its better texture, and the sauce tastes brighter on top.
Adjust the lemon to your taste:
Use the full amount for a stronger lemon finish, or start with a little less if you want a softer lemon flavor.
