Make juicy air fryer Italian sausage with browned casings and tender peppers and onions in about 20 minutes. I use a Ninja Foodi, but the same method works in other air fryers.
Toss the vegetables in the olive oil and seasonings
Add the vegetables to the air fryer cooking basket
Add the sausages to the top of the vegetables
Cook at 390 degrees for 8-10 minutes per side, depending on how browned you'd like your sausages to be.

Notes
Sausage options: Use fresh, raw mild, sweet, or hot Italian sausage links. Chicken or turkey Italian sausage works too.
Check the temperature: Pork Italian sausage should reach 160°F in the center. Cook chicken or turkey sausage to 165°F.
For more browning: The sausage may reach the right internal temperature before the casing is as browned as you want. Add another 1–2 minutes if needed.
Vegetable swaps: Zucchini or yellow squash can replace some of the peppers. Give firmer vegetables, such as Brussels sprouts or root vegetables, a 5–10 minute head start.
