Juicy air fryer Buffalo chicken breast made with boneless chicken breasts, simple seasonings, and buttery Buffalo sauce. There’s no breading, and it’s ready in under 30 minutes.
Mix the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder in a small bowl.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
Add the chicken breasts to a large bowl. Add the seasoning mixture and oil, then toss until evenly coated.
Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry at 400°F for 7–9 minutes per side, or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F. Cooking time will vary based on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
While the chicken cooks, mix the Buffalo wing sauce and melted butter.
Coat the cooked chicken breasts in the Buffalo sauce. Let them rest in the sauce for 5 minutes before serving. Add extra sauce, if desired.
Notes
Chicken size: Choose breasts that are similar in size when possible so they cook more evenly.
Check for doneness: Use an instant-read thermometer in the thickest part of the chicken rather than relying only on cooking time.
No breading: The chicken is seasoned directly before air frying. No flour or breadcrumbs are needed.
Extra sauce: Make or reserve additional Buffalo sauce if you like your chicken extra saucy.
