Even though you can buy it at the store, it tastes much better when you make it at home. Use this easy & cheap recipe to make sriracha mayo that is tailored to your preferences. Plus, get tips for tasty variations like making it with roasted garlic or truffle hot sauce!

- Easy & cheap: most people keep sriracha and mayonnaise stocked in the refrigerator, so you can skip the cost of buying it pre-made, by just using what you have on hand
- Spice Level to Taste: I’m not a fan of pre-made sriracha mayo because it usually isn’t spicy enough. By making it at home, you get to make it to your personal taste

This recipe works best with a thick hot sauce similar to the consistency of sriracha.

Top Tips & FAQs
- Store in the refrigerator: I tend to use this within a week, but you can likely store it longer in a sealed jar or other air-tight container
- Adjust the sriracha to suit your tastes: I recommend starting with half the sriracha required in the recipe and adding more to suit your personal preferences.
- Lemon Juice Optional: You can add in lemon juice for a bit of extra tangy flavor. However, you can skip it if you don’t have any or are satisfied with just the basics (thick hot sauce and mayo).
Best Ratio of Sriracha to Mayo
This depends on your personal preferences. But, I recommend:
For Milder Heat: Use a 2:1 ratio of mayo to sriracha (or another spicy substitute like the one below). This means that if you use two tablespoons of mayonnaise, then use one tablespoon of sriracha.
For Spicer Heat: Use a 1:1 ratio of mayo to sriracha (or another spicy substitute like the one below). This means that if you use two tablespoons of mayonnaise, then use two tablespoons of sriracha.
Spicy Mayo Variations
- Truffle Hot Sauce: instead of sriracha, I also enjoy this recipe with truffle hot sauce. It has the same consistency as sriracha so you can easily substitute it.
- Roasted Garlic: you can also adjust this recipe by adding a few cloves of roasted garlic. I make my roasted garlic in an air fryer, but you could roast it in the oven too. Blend the cloves in the sauce.
