This Keto Mojito is a minty refreshing cocktail that you can enjoy while maintaining a keto lifestyle. I use just a few simple ingredients, like vodka, fresh mint leaves, and lime to bring this low carb vodka mojito drink back into our lives. To make this drink refined sugar-free, I include all-natural sugar replacements as well as keto-friendly substitutes for simple syrup. I also share tips about choosing the best low carb alcohol for the Keto Diet, options to make this a fruity mojito drink, and how to make this keto mojito in a pitcher. This recipe is perfect for someone looking for a skinny mojito or a mojito that cuts sugar and carbs.
Why share a keto mojito recipe?
Going keto doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite cocktails. It just means you have to be a little smarter about how you make them.
Mojitos are one of my favorite summer drinks with their refreshing minty flavor. When I first went low carb, I was sad thinking I couldn’t have them anymore.
Problem solved! Skinny keto mojitos to the rescue!
Most mojitos are sweetened with syrup or sugar, which contain carbs and can kick you out of ketosis. Some even include ¼ cup of sugar or 50g net carbs. None of this is good when you are aiming for a keto lifestyle.
With my keto mojito, you don’t have to worry about carbs.
But what about the alcohol? Doesn’t alcohol have carbs?
Yes, most alcohol has carbohydrates. Alcohol is made from a fermentation process. Depending on the alcohol, either grains, fruits, or another source of sugar. These sugars give alcohol carbs, which makes it tricky to fit a drink into a keto or low carb diet, but it can be done.
What alcohol is best for the keto diet?
To stay on the keto diet and enjoy a drink, you have to pick the right alcohol. Alcohols with very low carb counts that can fit into a keto lifestyle include:
- Dry white wine

So, what is the lowest carb cocktail?
There are several low carb cocktails you can have. Probably the lowest carb cocktail you could drink would be a vodka and sparkling water mix. However, these keto mojitos are definitely one of the lowest carb cocktails you could sip on. With mint, club soda, vodka, and keto simple syrup these mojitos have a very low carb count.

What about mint? Is mint low carb?
Yes, mint is low carb. There are less than .5 grams of carbs in 5 fresh mint leaves so mint is a great way to add flavor to a drink or a meal while keeping your carbs in check.

How to Make a Keto Mojito
Making a keto mojito is just as easy as making a regular mojito.
I even take a little of the work out by shortcutting the need to make simple syrup. Instead of making a keto simple syrup prior to making one of these delicious mojitos, I just use ChocZero syrup.
If you have never had it before, I highly recommend stocking your kitchen with these. These syrups come in a variety of flavors and are all sugar free and non GMO.
For this mojito I used the maple syrup variety, but you could use any of them really. The coconut syrup or vanilla syrup would also be excellent in this.
To make a single drink, I add the mint leaves to a glass and muddle the mint to release its flavors.
Then, I add the lime juice, ChocZero, vodka and club soda to the glass and give it a quick stir so all the ingredients are well incorporated. I finish the drink by adding a little ice and garnishing it with a lime wedge and more fresh mint to make it really special feeling.
Make a whole pitcher of vodka mojitos!
While the recipe below is written to serve 1, you can easily make a pitcher of these skinny mojitos to serve at a party, a girls night, or whenever the mood strikes. The recipe easily sizes up.
The recipe card will let you double or triple (or more!) the recipe. Just make the larger recipe directly in a glass pitcher instead of in individual glasses and you’re good to go.
Variety is the spice of life! Skinny Mojito variations to suit your taste
The fun thing about making mojitos is you can really customize them to make them your own. Some of my favorite variations include:
- Berries: Add 2-3 tablespoons of fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or mixed berries and muddle the berries as you muddle the lime
- Can add lemon slices & juice over lime juice
- Sweetener: Add more sweetener if you prefer the drink to be sweeter
- Use granulated sweetener like this monk fruit erythritol to sweeten it even though keto simple syrup is preferable
- Use Honest Syrup or a different ChocZero syrup in place of simple syrup if you’d prefer to just buy something
Easy Keto Vodka Mojito
- 2 tbsp strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, optional
- Add mint leaves and fruit to a glass. Use a muddler to release some of the mint oils and smash the fruit.
- Add the lime juice, simple syrup, vodka, and club soda to the glass. Use a spoon to incorporate.
- Add ice and enjoy!
