Air fryer roasted cauliflower is an easy way to make cauliflower with tender centers and browned edges without preheating the oven for a full sheet pan. It’s a great side dish when you want something simple, and it also works as a helpful starting point for other cauliflower recipes.

I make it when I want an easy vegetable on the table, but I also use the same roasted cauliflower for recipes like Loaded Cauliflower, Roasted Cauliflower Soup, and Cauliflower Mac and Cheese.
Why You’ll Want to Make Air Fryer Roasted Cauliflower
- It gives cauliflower roasted flavor with less setup: The air fryer is a good option when you want browned, tender cauliflower without heating up the whole oven for a smaller batch.
- It works as more than a side dish: You can serve it as-is, or use it as the base for other cauliflower recipes when you want more than one way to put it to work.
- It gives other cauliflower recipes better flavor: Roasting first adds more depth than steaming or boiling, which is especially helpful in dishes like mashed cauliflower.
- It’s useful when you want a smaller batch: This is a nice option when you want roasted cauliflower for one dinner or want to prep cauliflower for another recipe without turning on the oven.

What You’ll Need to Make It
- Cauliflower florets: Cut the florets into fairly even pieces so they cook at the same rate.
- Olive oil: This helps the seasoning stick and helps the edges brown. You can also use avocado oil.
- Seasoning blend: A salt-free blend like 24 Herb Sprinkle works well here, but you can also change the flavor with Cajun seasoning if you want a bolder version.
- Salt and black pepper: These help the cauliflower taste balanced and bring out the roasted flavor.
How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Cauliflower
Season the cauliflower
Add the cauliflower florets to a large bowl with the oil, seasoning blend, salt, and pepper. Toss until the florets are evenly coated.
Air fry until browned and tender
Add the cauliflower to the air fryer basket in an even layer. Cook until the florets are tender and browned on the edges, tossing partway through if needed for even cooking.
Serve it right away or use it in another recipe
Serve it hot as a quick side dish, or use it as the starting point for another cauliflower recipe on the site.

How Long to Cook Cauliflower in the Air Fryer
The exact time depends on the size of your florets and how hot your air fryer runs, but most batches are done in about 10 to 15 minutes.

Smaller florets usually cook faster and pick up more browned edges. Larger florets may need a few extra minutes. I like to check around the 10-minute mark, then add more time if I want more color.
Ways to Use Air Fryer Roasted Cauliflower
This recipe is easy to serve as-is, but it is also a useful starting point for other cauliflower dishes on the site.
- Make loaded cauliflower: If you’re making Loaded Cauliflower, roast the cauliflower in the air fryer first then toss it in the cheese sauce. You can even build the rest of the recipe in a baking dish that fits in your air fryer and use the air fryer for the final browning step.
- Turn it into soup: Roasted cauliflower and garlic blend into a deeper, more developed Roasted Cauliflower Soupthan cauliflower that was only boiled or steamed.
- Use it for cauliflower mac and cheese: Roasting first helps the cauliflower stay firmer in Cauliflower Mac and Cheese and keeps the dish from tasting watery.
- Make mashed cauliflower: If you want a smoother cauliflower side with more depth, use this as the first step for mashed cauliflower.
What to Serve With Air Fryer Roasted Cauliflower
Air fryer roasted cauliflower works well with mains that already bring plenty of flavor. I especially like it with Blackened Chicken, Pan-Seared Halibut, or Miso Salmon when I want a vegetable side that feels easy but still fits the rest of dinner.
It also works well with richer dinners like Garlic Butter Steak Bites or garlic butter pork chops when I want an easy vegetable to round out the plate.

Tips for Better Roasted Cauliflower
- Dry the cauliflower well: If the florets are wet, they will steam more than roast.
- Do not crowd the basket: Give the cauliflower some space so the hot air can move around it.
- Cut the florets close in size: That helps them finish cooking at the same time.
- Check early if your air fryer runs hot: Some air fryers brown faster than others.
- Taste and adjust at the end: Once the cauliflower is hot and roasted, it is easy to tell whether it needs another pinch of salt.
How to Store and Reheat It
Air fryer roasted cauliflower is best right after cooking, when the edges are still browned and the centers are tender. If you have leftovers, let them cool, then store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
To reheat, add the cauliflower back to the air fryer for a few minutes until it is heated through and the edges pick back up some color. You can microwave it too, but the air fryer does a better job of bringing back the texture.
