This cold brew latte recipe combines smooth cold brew coffee with creamy milk and ice for an easy coffee drink you can make at home. Add vanilla, caramel, or your favorite sweetener when you want a little extra flavor.

pouring milk into cold brew to make a cold brew latte

A cold brew latte is perfect for breakfast or an afternoon coffee break. Serve it with keto pancakes or chicken breakfast sausage, or try my pumpkin spice cold brew when you want a fall version.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Quick: It takes just a few minutes to mix once your coffee and milk are chilled.
  • Easy to customize: Use your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk and adjust the sweetness to taste.
  • No espresso machine needed: Cold brew gives you plenty of coffee flavor without pulling a shot of espresso.
  • Easy to flavor: Vanilla, caramel, and pumpkin spice all work well with the basic latte.

Ingredients Needed

  • Cold brew coffee: Use chilled store-bought or homemade cold brew. If you’re using a concentrated cold brew, check the bottle for dilution instructions and adjust the milk to taste.
  • Milk: Whole milk, almond milk, oat milk, or another milk you enjoy will work.
  • Sweetener: Optional. Use sugar, simple syrup, or your preferred sweetener.
  • Vanilla or caramel extract: Optional, but an easy way to add flavor without changing the basic recipe.
  • Ice: Optional if both your coffee and milk are already well chilled, but I usually add it for an iced latte.

How to Make a Cold Brew Latte

Mix the coffee and flavoring

Pour the cold brew into a tall glass. Add the sweetener and vanilla or caramel extract, if using, then stir until well combined.

Add the ice

Fill the glass with ice. Starting with chilled coffee helps keep the drink cold without the ice melting too quickly.

Pour in the milk

Add the milk and stir. Taste the latte and adjust with a little more coffee for a stronger drink or more milk for a creamier one.

Cold Brew Concentrate vs. Ready-to-Drink Cold Brew

Not every bottle labeled cold brew has the same strength.

  • Ready-to-drink cold brew can usually be poured straight from the bottle and mixed with milk.
  • Cold brew concentrate is intentionally stronger and may need to be diluted. If you’re using concentrate, follow the dilution instructions on the bottle first or adjust the amount of milk until the drink tastes right to you.
  • This recipe uses a creamy 1 part cold brew to 2 parts milk ratio as a starting point. You can easily change that depending on the strength of your coffee and how bold you like your latte.

Cold Brew Latte Variations

Vanilla Cold Brew Latte

Stir vanilla extract or vanilla syrup into the cold brew before adding the milk.

Caramel Cold Brew Latte

Add caramel extract or caramel syrup for a caramel-flavored latte.

Almond Milk Cold Brew Latte

Use chilled almond milk in place of dairy milk. Oat milk and other milk alternatives work too.

Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Latte

Add a pinch of homemade pumpkin pie spice for a simple seasonal variation. For more pumpkin flavor, make my pumpkin spice cold brew, which uses real pumpkin. If you’d rather have a hot coffee, try my sugar-free pumpkin spice latte.

Tips for the Best Cold Brew Latte

  • Start with cold ingredients: Chilled coffee and milk keep the ice from melting too quickly.
  • Sweeten before adding ice: Sweetener mixes more easily directly into the coffee.
  • Adjust the ratio: Cold brew strength varies by brand, so use the recipe as a starting point and adjust to taste.
  • Add a creamy topping: A spoonful of homemade whipped cream turns the basic latte into more of a coffee-shop-style treat.

Cold Brew Latte FAQs

What is a cold brew latte?

A cold brew latte combines cold brew coffee with milk and is usually served cold or over ice. Sweetener and flavorings are optional.

What is a good cold brew latte ratio?

This recipe starts with 1 part cold brew to 2 parts milk for a creamy latte. Use more cold brew if you prefer a stronger coffee flavor or more milk if you want it milder.

What’s the difference between a cold brew latte and an iced latte?

A cold brew latte uses cold brew coffee as its base. A traditional iced latte uses espresso with milk and ice.

What to Serve With a Cold Brew Latte

  • For a sweet breakfast or brunch, serve your latte with almond flour waffles or keto pancakes.
  • For something savory, add chicken breakfast sausage and your favorite eggs.
  • You can also keep breakfast simple and top your drink with homemade whipped cream for a creamy finish.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Cold Brew, chilled
  • 1 cup Milk, I used almond milk, but the milk of your choice works.
  • ½ tsp Caramel Extract, or vanilla extract, optional
  • 2 tbsp Granular Sweetener
  • 1 cup Ice, optional, you can swap this for chilled cold brew and milk. I tend to do chilled coffee and ice since mine doesn't last long!

Instructions

  • Add the cold brew, sweetener, and vanilla or caramel extract, if using, to a tall glass or shaker cup.
  • Stir, whisk, or froth until the sweetener is incorporated.
  • Add ice, if using.
  • Pour in the milk and stir to combine. Adjust the coffee, milk, or sweetness to taste.

Recipe Notes

  • Cold brew: Use ready-to-drink cold brew or adjust a concentrate according to the package directions.
  • Milk: Dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk, and other milk alternatives all work.
  • Sweetener: Adjust the amount to your preference or leave it out completely.
  • Flavoring: Vanilla and caramel extract are optional.
  • Keep it cold: Chill the coffee and milk before mixing so the ice doesn’t dilute the latte as quickly.
  • Adjust the ratio: The recipe starts with 1 part cold brew to 2 parts milk. Add more cold brew for a stronger latte.
