Air fryer hard-boiled eggs don’t use any boiling water and are ready in under 15 minutes. They’re perfect for any recipe that calls for boiled eggs, from deviled eggs to tuna salad. Use my hard-boiled egg time chart to decide how long to boil eggs at 300 degrees for a hard or soft-boiled egg yolk. Plus, I include how to peel eggs easily!

When I first bought my Ninja Foodi air fryer, I was using it to make typical air fryer recipes like crispy chicken wings and air fryer hot dogs. Little did I know that it was THIS easy to hard-boil eggs in the air fryer! Air fryer hard-boiled eggs don’t need any water to cook, and they’re ready in 15 minutes or less.
Why Make Boiled Eggs in the Air Fryer
- It’s quick and easy. Using an air fryer makes the cooking process so much easier. It’s a great way to quickly boil eggs to serve with bacon for breakfast, or to use in egg recipes like egg salad, potato salad, or Cobb Salad.
- Make hard or soft-boiled eggs. I include my go-to time chart that shows how long to air fry hard-boiled eggs at 300ºF. You can use it to cook a hard or soft yolk.
- No fuss meal prep. I love making boiled eggs in the air fryer for a quick breakfast or a weekly meal prep. You can cook a big batch and store the eggs in the fridge so they’re ready to use.

What You’ll Need
All you need to make hard-boiled eggs in the air fryer is, well, eggs and an air fryer! Be sure to see the recipe card at the bottom of the post for full instructions on how to get perfect results.
- Air fryer – I tested this recipe using the Ninja Foodi. It’s my favorite air fryer (and small kitchen appliance). Besides superior crisping compared to other air fryers, I’ve found that the Ninja cooks food evenly without the need to preheat.
- Eggs – I’m using large eggs, but you can use whichever size you prefer.

How to Make Air Fryer Boiled Eggs
- Cook. Place the eggs into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 300ºF for 11-15 minutes.
- Ice the eggs. Add the cooked eggs to a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes. Use tongs, as they’ll be very hot. Afterwards, peel and then discard the egg shells.

Boiled Eggs Cooking Times
Soft-boiled eggs will have a jammy yolk, while perfect hard-boiled eggs have a firm yolk. The difference lies in how long you cook them. Use the time chart here to know how long to hard-boil eggs in the air fryer. Note that I tested my eggs in a Ninja Foodi basket-style air fryer at 300ºF.
- Runny yolks – 10 minutes
- Soft-boiled – 11 minutes
- Hard-boiled – 13 minutes
- Extra done – 15 minutes
How to Easily Peel Hard-Boiled Eggs With a Spoon
Peeling eggs sometimes requires patience, which I often fail at. However, I’ve found that the best way is to peel eggs with a spoon.
- Tap the bottom of the boiled egg against a hard surface, like a cutting board, and peel off just the bottom of the shell.
- Next, slide the head of the spoon underneath the shell, and gently turn the spoon, working around the egg. Once the shell is loosened, it should come right off.
Tips for Success
- Not all air fryers are the same. This tutorial was specifically tested with the Ninja Foodi, which is my personal favorite air fryer. For me, it’s the easiest way to boil eggs, rather than boiling them on a stove top. If you are using a different air fryer (like an air fryer oven), I recommend testing one egg to determine the best cook time for you. You may also need to preheat your air fryer for 1-2 minutes.
- Cook for at least 10 minutes. I don’t recommend cooking these for less than 10 minutes, as I found that the egg white does not set before 10 minutes.
- Give the eggs space. Though it might be tempting to pack as many eggs in your air fryer as possible, they need space. The hot air being able to circulate will allow your eggs to boil.
How to Store
- Refrigerate. The best way to store any leftover hard-boiled eggs is in an airtight container in the fridge for the next day (up to 5 days).

Works perfectly. I have the dual basket, 4 setting, ninja foodi. I did the eggs at 300 for 13 minutes on the air fry mode. I might do 12 minutes next time. But this totally works. Thanks.
