Ingredients Needed
This Crockpot Turkey Tenderloin doesn’t need much. Here’s what you’ll need to gather:
- Turkey breast tenderloins: I buy these packaged with two thawed out turkey tenderloins.
- Herb Seasoning: this includes garlic powder, black pepper, dried thyme leaves, and more.
- Onion powder
- Smoked paprika
- Xanthan gum: This is optional and a great way to thicken the juices that remain the the Crockpot to make gravy. You can also use any of these substitutes for Xanthan Gum for similar results.
Turkey Tenderloin Marinade
- Garlic: I’m using fresh minced garlic
- Herb Seasoning
- Olive oil
- Lemon juice
- Sea salt
- Sweetener: I use an all-natural sugar substitute, but any sweetener that you prefer works well.
How To Make Turkey Tenderloin in a Crockpot
- Add the ingredients for the marinade to a medium bowl and whisk to incorporate (If you have time, marinate the turkey for 24 hours). Otherwise, a great alternative is to head right to the slow cooker.
- Mix the spices for the meat (herb seasoning, onion powder, smoked paprika) in a small bowl.
- Place turkey tenderloin and all the marinade contents to the slow cooker. Sprinkle the tops of the turkey tenderloin with the spices. Slow cook on low for about 3-4 hours (or until the center of the meat is at 165 degrees per your meat thermometer).
- Optional for the gravy: Whisk in a dash of Xanthan gum, turn the slow cooker to high, and cook uncovered for 5-10 minutes until the gravy starts to thicken.
Recipe Tips & FAQs
- You can skip the long marination hours: Marinating the turkey at least overnight will intensify flavor and moisture. However, if you don’t have the time, get straight to the cooking turkey tenderloins, and the results will still be amazing.
- Mix the meat spices in a small bowl: Mixing the spices in a bowl helps with even spice mix application and distribution of flavors.
- You can use Xanthan gum or its substitutes: If you don’t have or don’t want to use Xanthan gum for the gravy, go for any available substitutes. I serve the gravy more like a turkey glaze by brushing it on the juicy tenderloin. You can also serve it up on the side.
- Speed things up by using my air fryer turkey tenderloin recipe: this is a great option if you need to have your turkey tenderloin quickly.
