Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip (Easy Homemade Recipe)

If you’re looking for a ranch dip that cuts calories, packs more protein than the traditional ranch, and isn’t heavy on things like mayo, then you should try this easy homemade Greek Yogurt Ranch Dip Recipe. It comes together in just two steps and is lower in calories than keto ranch dressing. Use this as a dip for vegetables, chicken wings, or as a topping for salad.

Why Make This

  • Fewer calories than traditional ranch: most ranch dressings are mayo-based. This means that mayonnaise is the main ingredient. By substituting most of the mayo, this Greek Yogurt Ranch is more than half the calories of many mayo-based ranch dips.
  • Fits a range of ways of eating: whether you’re on Weight Watchers, low-carb or keto, this recipe can be added to the menu. I personally enjoy it as a dip for my simple roasted chicken wings.

Ingredients Needed

  • Greek Yogurt: I’m using full-fat Greek Yogurt since it has the lowest total carbs and sugar compared to non-fat yogurt. The amount is about the size of one small Greek container.
  • Mayonnaise: Mayo gives ranch a creamy finish. So, in this recipe, a little goes a long way.
  • Buttermilk Ranch Seasoning: I’m using my homemade ranch seasoning. But, you can use any ranch seasoning mix that you prefer.
  • Lemon Juice: this adds a bit of an extra bright flavor.

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and mix to incorporate.

  • Add ranch to taste: one of the benefits of making your own Greek Yogurt Ranch is that you can make it taste exactly how you like it. You can add as much ranch seasoning as you like. Simply, add it, stir it, and adjust
  • Refrigerate to let the flavors meld: for maximum flavor, allow your ranch dip to sit in the refrigerator for at least one hour. If you’re in a time-crunch, don’t worry about this step. I’ve “made this to order” so to speak.
Can you substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream in ranch dip?

Yes. Greek Yogurt and Sour Cream are 1:1 substitutes in most recipes.

How many calories is in Greek Yogurt Ranch?

This Greek Yogurt Ranch has 56 calories per serving. A serving is two tablespoons. For comparison, regular ranch is 129 calories for the same serving.

Is ranch healthy for weight loss?

Weight loss is about more than a specific food. In general, I’ve learned that it requires commitment to making lifestyle changes. This ranch has fewer calories than mayo-based ranch, but weight loss would depend on your entire diet and exercise regimen.

  • 2/3 cup Greek yogurt, full fat, this is about the size of one small Greek container
  • 2 tbsp Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix, click for the recipe
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
