It is always great to start out the day with a healthy breakfast option. My Keto Mixed Berry Smoothie is fruity, thick, and only uses a handful of ingredients. Depending on the season, you can use fresh or frozen fruit. But, frozen fruit gives the in-season flavors all-year-round! Enjoy this with the whole family. Perfect for on-the-go.

A Keto Berry Smoothie to Start the Day

While berries have tons of health benefits to them, I personally love starting my day with a recipe that contains collagen. I try to have a scoop of collagen on most days during the week because I find that my hair, skin, and nails look and feel much better when I use it. 

Usually, I will have collagen in my coffee, but that tends to get old after so long. This keto berry smoothie is a way to change things up, deliciously!

Best Low Carb Berries for Smoothies

Fruit naturally contains high amounts of sugar, which is why many fruits are not considered keto-friendly. However,  some fruits have lower carbs than others. That’s why I’ve chosen the ingredients in this recipe carefully.

Blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries are all great in moderation on a ketogenic low-carb diet. Blueberries have more carbs than the other berries, but also make a delicious option for smoothies on a keto diet!

Berry Smoothie Add-Ins & Variations

One of my favorite variations is my Keto Strawberry Smoothie that uses strawberry lemonade collagen.

But, smoothies are very versatile so you can customize your mix of fruit, just be sure to use 1 cup total of your frozen berries. You should know that customizing your smoothie will adjust the carb counts, so just be mindful of what you choose.

Collagen is essential in this keto berry smoothie because it adds thickness when blending, lending to a lovely smoothie texture. It also gives a major protein boost, so do not skip the collagen.

If you want to make this low carb berry smoothie into a dessert, go ahead and add my homemade Keto Whipped Cream over the top for extra decadence! You can also swirl in any of my homemade 4-ingredient fruit dessert sauces, such as blueberry, strawberry, or raspberry.

Collagen for Thickness and Fuel

Although there are multiple flavors of collagen, I am using vanilla in this keto berry smoothie. You can also use plain, unflavored collagen if that is what you have.

  • 2 cups Ice
  • 1 cup Mixed Berries, frozen
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sweetener

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender.
  • Use the "smoothie" setting or blend until smooth.
