How To Make Slow Cooker Chicken Wings Without Sauce
- Pat the wings dry with a paper towel. Add the wings to the crockpot.
- Mix the spices in a small bowl.
- Sprinkle on the wings and use tongs to mix to coat. Cover and slow cook on high for 2 hours
- Preheat the broiler for 15 minutes. Remove the wings from the crockpot and add them to a broiler-safe baking sheet with a rack in a single layer. If you don’t have a rack, no worries. I add the wings with the most browned side up to a sheet pan lined with aluminum foil. Broil for 5 minutes on high to char the wings and crisp the skin.
Recipe Tips & FAQs
- No extra oil or chicken broth is needed since the fat from the wings will keep them tender as they slow cook.
- Broil the wings for crispy skin you can flip them halfway through to get even browning on both sides. For best results, preheat your broiler.
- If you have whole wings, you can use this process to cut chicken wings.
Wing Dips
Dip these crockpot wings in:
Wing Sauces
If you want variety, you can add your favorite wing sauce to these crockpot chicken wings after cooking or before broiling. Some of my favorites are:
- barbecue sauce
- homemade buffalo sauce from my air fryer buffalo wings
- garlic parmesan sauce from my garlic parmesan chicken wings
Storage & Leftovers
Store your leftover wings in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
Yes. My slow cooker chicken wings recipe uses raw chicken. I recommend that you thaw frozen chicken wings if you have them.
You can slow cook chicken on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 5-6 hours.
It depends on how much time you have and your personal preferences. Cooking on high takes less time but can dry out the chicken if you forget. On the other hand, cooking on low takes longer but preserves moisture and more flavor.
