Ranch Chicken Wings use four ingredients and come together in less than 30 minutes. I use my homemade buttermilk ranch seasoning, but you can make these Air Fryer Ranch Wings with any ranch spice you prefer. Dip these in ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, or greek yogurt ranch dip. Or, you can have them as the main protein for an easy chicken dinner.
Why Make Air Fryer Ranch Wings
- Quick & easy: make ranch wings in your air fryer in less than 30 minutes
- Simple ingredients: these ranch chicken wings require just four ingredients.
Ingredients Needed
- Chicken Wings: I use fresh drumettes, party wings, or whole wings cut into drumettes and flats
- Cayenne Pepper Hot Sauce: any hot sauce like Tabasco will do. The hot sauce adds a mild heat as well as flavor.
- Buttermilk Ranch Seasoning: you can use my homemade recipe or any ranch seasoning mix from the store.
- Avocado Oil (or olive oil)
How to Make Air Fryer Ranch Wings
- Prepare the chicken wings: Pat the wings dry with a paper towel. Add the wings to a large bowl with the hot sauce, ranch seasoning, and oil.
- Toss to coat: evenly coat the chicken with the seasoning and oil
- Add the chicken to the air fryer cooking basket
- Air Crisp the wings at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes per side.
Top Cooking Tips & FAQs
- Turn down the air fryer heat if needed: Ranch wings are cooked about 5 minutes before I actually take them out because I prefer a crisp and browned chicken wing skin. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, though, you can turn the heat down to 360 degrees if the buttermilk (in the spice mix) is browning quickly and you want your wing skin to crisp more.
- Allow the chicken to sit with ranch for more flavor: this is optional, but you can use ranch seasoning as a dry rub and keep it on the wings up to two days in advance
- Add more ranch seasoning at the end: depending on how much you love ranch seasoning, you can sprinkle more on the cooked wings when they are done.
It depends on whether the wings are fresh or frozen. But, wings take between 18-25 minutes in the air fryer.
You can make crispy wings in the air fryer with baking powder. You can also cook them a bit longer to allow the skin to crisp.
